Let's say you make 600 hp. If your peak HP occurred at 5252 rpm, you'd have 600 lbs of torque at that point. If you have a high revving engine that made its peak HP at 10,504 rpm, you'd only need 300 lbs of torque at that point. On the other hand, if you had a diesel truck engine that made its peak HP at 2626 rpm, you'd have 1,200 lbs of torque at that point.
